This is my portfolio of work. I am very proud of what I’ve accomplished. Please have a look.
Internet Cash Revolution is the kind of site that seems almost painfully simple on the surface, but then turns out to be drastically more difficult underneath the hood. Don’t let the black and white text and lack of graphics fool you–ICR was a wicked project to complete.
I’m most proud of the animated arrow next to the button–the example image the client showed me was a gif circa 1998, which looked pixelated and absolutely terrible. On top of that, it was completely non-customisable. I redid the entire display using CSS tricks to emulate an arrow, and then used keyframes to animate it. The overall output meant that the button has a hover effect in addition to the animation, and the whole thing can be customised easily if the client needs to change his call to action.
Ariëlle Verwey is an amazing woman that I was honoured to be able to work with. She came to me with her website already created, with a custom theme she already loved. There were just three great big glaring issues with it. First of all, it didn’t display her brand’s custom fonts, and nothing she’d done had allowed her to change the font choices. Second, and more importantly, it was an accessibility nightmare. While it may be beautiful to clients with perfectly functioning vision and motor acuity, it was actively hostile to users in need of screen readers or keyboard shortcuts. Third, she needed her website’s footer to match another website she was also working on.
It was a quick job to whip up a custom child theme that addressed these issues, building in the necessary elements to make it screen reader and keyboard user friendly, as well as embedding the fonts that make her brand so clearly recognisable.
