Hi! I’m Tal. I founded Taliesin Coding to bring excellence in responsive web design to businesses like yours. I focus exclusively on serving clients in the alternative health niche. I specialise in making your website accessible — and awesome — no matter which devices your customers use.
My Design Philosophy
Good design should be invisible–your story comes first. My philosophy as a web developer is that accessibility is paramount to design. It doesn’t matter how clever or pretty your website is, if it’s difficult to use, you’re chasing your audience away. But it’s easy to forget that not everyone has the same definition of ‘simple to use’. As you may know, 15% of people in this world face a disability of some kind. Visual impairment, hand tremors, or reading difficulties: these can all make surfing the web a challenge. Accessibility is the art of making sure people with those conditions aren’t left behind. This is my passion–making sure the web works for everyone.
The good news is that, on the internet, accessibility is easy to build in. All it takes is a bit of planning ahead, and a creative spark to guide it. Accessibility doesn’t have to mean large black text on a white background!
At the end of the day, if your website isn’t accessible, you’re missing the opportunity to serve some of the best, most loyal customers out there. The harder a disabled person has to work to navigate your site, the less likely they are to become your client. Many people who seek out alternative health remedies are sick, tired, or shaky. If your text is hard to read or your links are too small to click on, it doesn’t matter if you’re offering a swim in the fountain of youth–they just can’t connect with you, and they’ll seek help elsewhere.
It’s my goal as a designer to make sure that never happens.
